- 1936 • SOTEXI was founded especially to distribute dying, finishing and knitting equipement.
- 1947 • At this time the compagny expanded its facilities to include spinning and weaving and Rachel and warp knitting machinery, employing a total of 20 people.
- 1962 • Distribution of a comprehensive range of textile machinery including spinning, weaving, knitting, dying and finishing, embroidery, quilting, automatic making-up equipement, screen printing.
The team was exanded to 60 people and export sales started worlwide.
- 1980 • In this year a Research and Development department was instigated and machine manufacture commenced.
- Depuis 1988 • Sotexi employs over 120 people within a new, custom built 6000 square meter facility.
- Since 1980, Research and Development has played an increasingly important part, and now an 8 strong team
undertakes specialist mechanical and electronic design within 2 separate dedicated units.
Completed projects embrace the design, fabrication and comminssioning of complex towel finishing and sheet folding machinery.

- Manufacture and refurbishment of textile machinery is carried out within a spacious assembly hall.
Here complex textile machinery are adapted, modified and commissioned ready for installation in textile plants
Sophisticated handling equipment and inhouse cleaning and painting booths are in adjcent lines to ensure that high engineering standards are maintained .
- Some 750 square meters are dedicated to spares parts storage. In excess of 35,000 parts are immeditely avialable via a computer controlled system. A highly skilled team of mechanical and electronic engineers are on call to respond promptly to your servicing needs.
- SOTEXI is a major exhibitor at textile exhibitions wordwide. Alternatively, a permanent showroom is maintained in Paris where, as a welcome visitor, you can see machinery in action.
